IPPI 2020 launched across Nagaland

Dimapur, January 19: Along with the rest of the country, the Polio National Immunization Day was launched across Nagaland on Sunday with a target to reach 2,77,283 children in 2,274 polio booths manned by 9,096 frontline workers and 441 supervisors for three days.
In the State capital, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Thejawelie Gregory launched the programme by administering polio drops to a 3-year girl child at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.
State Immunizatio Officer, Dr Ritu Thurr mentioned that the target age group of 0-5 years will be covered in all 11 districts. Special focus is given to the migrant population to prevent the importation of polio cases.
Dimapur: Dimapur District observed IPPI 2020 on Sunday with ADC Dimapur V. Lovitoly Sema administering the first two drops of polio.
To vaccinate 43355 children of 0-5 years in Dimapur District, 519 booths were set up across the district with 2076 teams of vaccinators and 102 supervisors.
