Introduction of wrestling in Govt Schools launched

Kohima, November 30: Shanavas C, (IAS) principal director, School Education, Nagaland today formally launched the introduction of wrestling in Govt Schools under Samagra Shiksha Nagaland here at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, he said that launching program is easy but to carry forward the program is another challenge where the Nagaland Wrestling Association has to put collective effort for successful implementation of the program.
Dr. Kevizakie Rio, Jt Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha also spoke on the occasion.
He said that the introduction of wrestling will target the students of government schools for both boys and girls. He also said that priority will be given to non wrestling districts.
Neivikuolie Khatsu, president Nagaland Wrestling Association expressed gratitude to the Department and Government officials for pursuing the proposal into a reality.
He also said that the Nagaland Wrestling Association shall give its best for successful implementation of the program.
Kevileno Angami, State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland also present on the occasion.
The formal launching programme was chaired by Vekhozo while vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Hiabe Zeliang.
The new initiative will be funded by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland and implementation by Nagaland Wrestling Association.
Meanwhile,along with this, Naga Wrestling Referee Clinical was conducted where 17 old timers and 22 new comers attended the training.
Hukhoneyi Soho, Kezhalelie Keretsu and Chisazo Dawhuo were the resource person.
Qualified certificate were awarded to all the new trainees.
