International Yoga Day celebrated in Nagaland

Dimapur, June 21: The Assam Rifles celebrated 6th International Yoga Day on June 21 with enthusiastic participation of all ranks, families and children in consonance with the theme of “Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family” while adhering to COVID-19 precautions.
The participants were introduced to Kapalbhati, Pranayama, Dhyna, Sankalpa, meditation and other Yogasanas, as per the common protocol issued by Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. On the day, an enthralling yoga session was conducted wherein participants did not let COVID-19 discourage them from keeping fit and practised Yoga at their homes, barracks and forward posts, said an AR press release.
The release said the celebration of International Yoga Day is a reminder for all individuals to incorporate Yoga practice to enjoy a happy and blissful life and reduce the effect of stress and other physical ailments. PYSK: The Pantajali Yog Samity Kohima (PYSK) celebrated 6th International Day of Yoga at Kohima on June 21 on the theme ‘Yoga at home, and Yoga with family’ on digital media platform connecting the members of the Samity and people at home in view of the restrictions on public gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programme was addressed by Santu Thapa, PYSK president and the Yoga session was conducted by Ashok Singh. The session was conducted as per Yoga protocol framed by the AYUSH Ministry, Government of India.
The ongoing health crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of lives, with mental and psychological impact being as grave as the physical ailment. In such times, having strong immunity and sound health is the key to fighting the rapidly spreading disease. Yoga focuses on strengthening the immunity and provides effective, accessible, and affordable means to fight the negative impacts of COVID-19, said a PYSK release.
