
DIMAPUR, MARCH 3: A one-day district-level inter-high school literary competition in essay writing and quiz on the topic “The internet created to be a change” and “Different forms of addiction among students” was organised by the department of Youth Resources and Sports at Lower Forest colony community hall on March 3.
District Youth Resource Officer, Chubarenla Longchari, in her introductory speech, said that the competition aims to broaden and enhance the students’ commutative skills, their verbal and written skills and expression. “Winner is just a title and fades away but the knowledge is what you gain,” she said.
Schools participating in the competition included Chandmari Hr. Sec. School, Mt. Hermon, Stella Hr. Sec. School and Northfield. The judges were Dr. Moaakum Kichu Asst. Prof. Dept. of Botany Kohima Science College and. K Alibo Achumi Asst. Prof. Dept. of Sociology St. Joseph’s College Jakhama.
The result of the essay competition are as follows: Emao M Lam from Chandmari Hr. Sec. School bagged first while Hisinle Kemp from Stella Hr. Sec. School and Kechanei-u Huozha from Northfeild bagged second and third respectively.
In the quiz competition, the first position was bagged by the Mt. Hermon School, while in the second and third position stood Northfield and Stella Hr. Sec School respectively.
