Inter-college sports & literary meet underway

Dimapur, January 28: The first All Nagaland Inter-College Sports and Literary Meet, organised by the Private College Association Nagaland (PCAN), is underway at Tetso College. A total of 23 colleges from across Nagaland are participating in the two days meet on January 28-29.
The inaugural ceremony took place at the Tetso College Amphitheatre. Convenor of PCAN Sports Committee, Joshua Achumi of Yemhi College said that the main objective of the event was to bring all colleges under Nagaland to compete, to know, and to have a healthy relationship with each other to strengthen ties and brotherhood among themselves. He asked the students to widen their horizons by making new friends and learning from them and the various events.
Dr PS Lorin, President of PCAN said in spite of having many different organisations in Nagaland, the PCAN wanted to organize such an event to prove that Nagaland is also capable of achieving so much. PCAN aims at contributing to provide quality education, to enhance the educational system in Nagaland and to take all educational institutions to a higher level, and to direct Nagaland into becoming an educational hub, he said.
The inaugural ceremony ended with the kick off of badminton exhibition match between the management and veterans. All sports events were played simultaneously.
