Dimapur, September 11: A meeting with AEROs, political party representatives and media in regard to special summery revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to 01.01.2019 as the qualifying date was held in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima on September 11.
Releasing the publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Roll, ADC and ERO Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa requested the political parties to go through the draft roll and if there is any bogus enrolment or person expired, shifted or illegally enrolled, it may be brought to the notice of BLOs and AEROs for deletion. She said that for any claims and objections, it has to be corrected during the period for filing claims and objections that is from September 11 to October 31.
Pointing out that preparation is more important than polling day, the ADC & ERO requested the political parties to see if there are any left out voters who will be completing 18 years of age by 1st January 2019 to get enrolled this time in order to let them exercise their franchise in the coming election. She also requested them to create awareness to the residents/ electors to go to their respective polling stations during the two day special campaign dates that is September 22 and October 31 to carry out the necessary connection if required.
Informing the requirement of appointed Booth Level Agents from the political parties, AEO Toshimeren requested the political parties to appoint their respective Booth Level Agents wherever feasible, if not in every polling station, so as to assist the BLOs and also to ease the counter checking balance during the election process. He also informed that creation of three polling stations have been approved, one each in Forest colony, P. Khel and Chedema making a total of 226 polling stations for Kohima district.
