Dimapur, August 15: The 72nd Indian Independence Day was celebrated at Dimapur with Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton unfurling the National Flag and took salute from 18 parade contingents at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur.
Other highlights of the celebration included flagging off of Gypsy’s for Highway Patrolling in Kohima and Dimapur and interior police stations in other districts by Deputy Chief Minister, cultural show by TIME Dimapur, Khiamniungan cultural club, Dimapur, Indigenous Cultural Society, School of Music & Art Dimapur and inauguration of exhibition cum sale stalls by the chief guest. An exhibition match was also played between Deputy Commissioner’s XI and District Education Officer XI.
Mokokchung: The 72nd India Independence day was celebrated at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung with Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Metsubo Jamir as the chief guest. He gave away the District Award 2018 to 36 individuals representing different departments and NGOs.
Highlights of the programme included special presentation by Fazl Ali College, Town Hr. Sec. School, Jubilee Memorial School, Teakwondo Association Mokokchung and police & FAC students. Cultural items were presented by Amoklushi Cultural Club, Chuchuyimpang village, Longsalong Cultural Club, Sumi Union Mokokchung, Sangtam Union Mokokchung while the 44 Assam Rifles presented a Band display.
Phek: Along with the rest of the country, Phek district headquarter celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at Phek local ground with Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, Kashiho Sangtam as the chief guest. He unfurled National flag and took the Rastriya salute with the National Anthem. He also delivered the Independence Day Speech and inspected the parade contingents and took the salute from seventeen parade contingents.
Earlier thousands of people gathered at local ground and celebrated the Independence Day. In the evening exhibition football match was played between 22nd Assam Rifles Phek and Phek Government College. The celebration ended with beating of retreat by 22nd Assam Rifles, Phek.
Peren: Along with the rest of the country, Peren District celebrated 72nd Independence Day at Multi-Disciplinary Outdoor Sports Complex at New H/Q Peren with Minister for Health & Family Welfare S. Pangnyu Phom as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took the salute from the contingents namely DEF, Peren, Sainik School, Punglwa, NCC Senior Division (boys) Peren Govt. College, NCC Senior Wing (girls) Peren Government College, Barail Valley School Jalukie and 36 Assam Rifles Jalukie Band Platoon.
Marking the occasion, special presentation was performed by JNV Jalukie on National Integration, cultural dance by New Jalukie and Band Display by 36 Assam Rifles Pipe Band.
Kiphire: Kiphire District joining with the rest of the country celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at Kiphire public ground. The tri-colour was hoisted at Government offices and semi government offices, private buildings. Minister for Agriculture and Cooperative, G.Kaito Aye unfurled the National flag and took salute of the parade contingents.
In the entertainment programme, folk dance was presented by Kiphire Alongshung Atparu (KAAM) & Eastern Sumo Hoho (ESH) Kiphire. The chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stall set up by the different departments under Kiphire & distribute power tiller which to 25 village councils under Kiphire for their utilization in farming on hire basis in order to maintain their farm machine.
Zunheboto: Along with the rest of the nation, Zunheboto district celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and then inspected the parade contingents and read out the speech followed by March past by the contingents.
Earlier in the morning, all Government offices at Zunheboto and educational institutions hoisted the national flag.
Tuensang: The 72nd Independence Day celebration was held at at Parade Ground Tuensang with Minister for Public Works Department, Tongpang Ozukum as the chief guest. After unfurling the National flag, he read out the speech and took salute from 16th Parade Contingent.
The chief guest also gave away the District Commendation Awards
Wokha: The 72nd Independence Day celebration was held at local ground, Wokha, with Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu as the chief guest.
Highlights of the programme included drill display by DBHSS Brass Band, folk song by Eloe Eramo Okho, war dance by Lotsu club, choreography by Vontsophen Multi-purpose society, Gilgal school song by Kumali Vontsson and special number by Emilo Kinghen.
Longleng: In Longleng the 72nd Indian Independence Day was celebrated with Jacob Zhimomi, Minister for Public Health & Engineering (PHED) as the chief guest at local ground, Longleng. He unfurled the National flag and took salute form 15 parade contingents.
Thousands of people from all walks of life and from the neighbouring villages attended and witness the celebration.
Mon: The 72nd Independence Day at Mon Hq was celebrated at Local ground, with Paiwang Konyak, Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways, Land Resources as the chief guest. He unfurled the tri colour and took salute from 20 march past contingents.
After the formal programme, the chief guest also visited various departmental stalls
The evening session was graced by Thavaseelan K, IAS, DC Mon as the chief guest. The evening session witnessed tug of war between KNSK and lady Government officials and exhibition football match between Veteran Xl Mon Town and Officers’ Club Mon.
Noklak: The 72nd Independence Day celebrated at Noklak was held at public Ground with Advisor Printing & Stationery, H. Haiying as chief quest. He unfurled the national flag and took salute from 10 parade contingents.
The chief quest also inspected the stalls put up by Agri Department and SHG, Noklak. 45th AR demonstrated arms and ammunitions of various types
Pfutsero: Along with the rest of the country, the 72ndIndependence Day was observed at Pfutsero with Advisor, Rural Development, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took salute from eight parade contingents.
Pfutsero sub division 1st flower show cum competition and sale was organised by the DHO Phek in coordination with the district administration as a part of the 72ndIndependence Day celebration. Altogether more than 30 participants took part in the competition.
Meluri: Along with the rest of the country Meluri sub-division celebrated 72nd Independence Day at Meluri Local ground with Rhosietho Nguori NCS, ADC Meluri as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took salute from nine parade contingents. He also read out the Independence Day message.
Later in the afternoon exhibition football match was played between the uniformed and Shining star FC followed by beating of retreat by 5th NAP band.
Thonoknyu: At Thonoknyu Sub Division the 72nd Indian Independence Day National Flag was unfurled by Head Dobashe Tuchithong Tikher at 6 am at SDO Civil Office campus. All the DBs and GBs attended the program.
Aboi: 72nd Indian Independence Day was celebrated in Aboi local ground with Advisor, IPR, SCERT and VG, Toshi Wungtung as the chief guest who unfurled the national flag and took salute. The national anthem was sung by St. John School. He also inspected the parade contingents led by DEF Aboi, VG, Scout and Guide, various schools under Aboi town and also read out the independence speech.
Pughoboto: Denizen of Pughoboto Sub-Division celebrated the 72nd Indian Independence Day with the ADC Pughoboto, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi as the chief guest. He unfurled the tri-colour and took the Rashtriya salute from eight contingents.
The chief guest also opened the exhibition stalls put by different departments.
Chozuba: ADC Chozuba, Japheth Woch unfurled the National flag at Chozuba. Parade inspection was done by OC, PS Chozuba followed by Rashtriya salute and singing of National anthem. Independence Day speech was delivered by the ADC.
Bhandari: Bhandari Sub Division celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with ADC Bhandari, Tiameren Chang as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech.
A football exhibition match was also played between Bhandari Officers Team and NGOs Team.
Jakhama: Along with the rest of the State Jakhama Sub Division celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at Sub Division Officer office at Jakhama. SDO (C) Jakhama, Alemyapang Longchar unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech.
The celebration was attended by all the government officials and staffs, village council chairman, village secretaries and village representatives.
Tseminyu: Tseminyu Sub-Division celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at RSA ground, Tseminyu with Dr. Longriniken, Advisor for Law & Justice, Border Affairs, Treasury & Accounts as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute.
Later the chief guest inaugurated the exhibition stalls made by Agri and Allied Department and SHGs during the celebration.
Tening: The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with the rest of the country with Sarita Yadav, IAS, ADC Peren as special guest at ADC Administrative Headquarters Tening local ground.
Parade contingents included Govt. High School, Baptist High School, St Francis De Sales School and Zeliangrong Heraka School.
Shamator: With the rest of the countrymen Shamator Yimchungru celebrated the 72nd Indian Independence day with Commissioner, M. Patton, IAS as chief guest, who unfurled the tricolour national flag.
In the afternoon session exhibition volleyball match was played between 45th Assam rifles and Shamator Town Students Union (STSU).
Jalukie: Along with the rest of the country, Jalukie Sub-Division under Peren District also celebrated 72nd Indian Independence Day with Advisor for Irrigation and Flood Control Namri Nchang as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took the Rastriya salute which was accompanied by singing of the National Anthem by the students of JNV Jalukie.
Later the chief guest inaugurated the exhibition cum sale stalls put up by various department and NGOs. To mark the occasion an exhibition match was played between ADC 11 and Town Youth 11.
Naginimora: Along with the rest of the country Naginimora celebrated the 72nd I -Day with Renabomo Odyuo, ADC Naginimora as the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem from Care Well School. He delivered the Independence Day speech and took salute from eight parade contingents.
Chiephobozou: Chairman NKVIB, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu unfurled the tri colour during the Independence Day celebration at Chiephobozou. He read out the Independence Day speech. Six contingents took part in the parade ceremony.
Longkhim: The 72nd Independence Day celebration was held at Public Ground with Imnatiba, Advisor, Industries and Commerce, NIDC as the chief guest. After unfurling the National Flag he read out the speech and took salute from eight parade contingents.
Highlights of the day included cultural dance by Tsadang and Kiding dancing troupes, inauguration, sales and exhibition stalls put up by various SHGs selling organic fruits and traditional ornaments. Earlier, the chief guest also inaugurated the Sub Division Education Office at Longkhim town.
Wakching: Along with the rest of the country Wakching observed the 72nd Indian Independence Day celebration at local ground, Wakching. Relise Sangtam SDO (C), Wakching unfurled the national flag and took salute from eight contingents and read out the Independence Day speech. The parade contingents were JNV School (Boys & Girls), St.John School (Boys & Girls), Kengpang School (Boys & Girls) and GHS (Boys & Girls)
Longching: Along with the rest of the country, the office of the Information Assistant Longching, Mon celebrated the 72nd Independence Day by hoisting National Flag in the office.
Sanis: Independence Day was celebrated at Sanis Government High School ground. Advisor for Horticulture Mhathung Yanthan graced the function as the chief guest. He unfurled the tri-colour and took salute from four parade contingents commanded by Hav Rajanglung Zeliang, DEF Wokha. He also inaugurated the exhibition stall put up by different villages and groups.
Atoizu: Atoizu ADC Hq celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at Atoizu ground with ADC Atoizu, Arikumba as the guest of honour. He unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade, read out the speech and took salute of the march past contingents.
Satakha: Satakha ADC Hq celebrated the 72ndIndependence Day at Satakha public ground with ADC Satakha T. L. Kiusumong Tikhir as the guest of honour. He unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade, read out the speech and took salute of the march past contingents.
Medziphema: The 72nd Celebration of the Indian Independence day was celebrated at Local Ground Medziphema, with Advisor to Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Women Resources, R. Khing as the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag and took the Rastriya Salute. He then inspected the parade contingents and delivered the Independence Day speech.
Tizit: K.T Sukhalu Advisor, School Education unfurled the national flag on Independence Day celebration at local ground, Tizit. He read the Independence Day speech and took salute from 6th NAP Bn VG Loakkun Village, NCC GHS and GHSS (Boys & Girls), Unit School, Holy Angel School, M.John School.
Tobu: The 72nd Independence Day 2018 was celebrated with traditional favour in Tobu HQ where Advisor for DUDA N. Bongkhao Konyak hoisted the National Flag followed by National Anthem and delivered the Independence Day speech. He also took salute from 11 contingents.
To mark the occasion an exhibition Football Match was played between Tobu Town Student’s Union and Government employees.
Pungro: Along with the rest of the country, Pungro celebrated the Independence Day at local ground, with Advisor Youth Resource & Sports, Zale Neikha as the chief guest. He took the salute from 7 parade contingents.
Changtongya: Along with the rest of the Nation, 72nd Indian Independence Day was celebrated at Changtongya Headquarter at SDO (C) Office premises with Moakumzuk Tzudir, SDO (C) Changtongya as the chief guest. He unfurled the Indian National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech. He also took salute from OC Police station Changtongya which was led by Haveldar Lanu.
Tamlu: In Tamlu Sub-Division the Independence Day 2018 was celebrated with ADC Tamlu, Y. Chingyak Konyak as the special guest at local ground Tamlu. He unfurled the national flag and took the salute from seven contingents.
Niuland: Joining the rest of the country, Niuland sub division celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at Public ground Niuland. ADC Nuiland Athrila unfurled the tri colour national flag and took salute from eight contingents.
ADC Nuiland also inaugurated the exhibition stalls.
Ralan: The 72nd Independence Day celebration was observed at Ralan, with SDO (C) Kikato K.Chishi as the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech. He took salute from the DEF Ralan, National Anthem was sung by students of Government Middle School Ralan.
Large number of Government employees, public leaders, OC staff Ralan and NGOs of the area attended the celebration.
Seyochung: Seyochung ADC HQ celebrated the 72nd Indian Independence Day at public ground with Advisor for Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economics &Statistics, L. Khumo as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag delivered the Independence Day speech and took salute from the two parade contingents.
All heads of Offices, VCC and public of Seyochung and Sitimi area attended the function.
Chen: Along with the rest of the country, Chen Hq observed Independence Day at SDO (Civil) Complex at Chen Town. SDO (C) Chen, T. Moa Lemtor unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya Salute from NVG Chen Hq. All the officers, NGOs, Public from Chen Area attended the celebration.
Aghunato: The 72nd anniversary Independence Day was celebrated in Aghunato with T. Nchumbemo Odyuo, ADC as the chief guest. He unfurled the tri-color National flag and took salute from the parade contingents.
Other highlights included ‘Vande Mataram’ drill along with songs by Don Bosco School, Mizo traditional ‘Bamboo dances’ by Mount Shepherd School, drills and dances by Eden Boarding school, Government Higher Secondary School and GMS Aghunato.
Tuli: Independence Day was celebrated at Tuli with Advisor, Tourism, Art and Culture, Khehovi Yepthomi as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and took salute from the parade contingents and also read out the Independence Day message.
Altogether five parade contingents took part in the march past.
Nagaland House Delhi: Nagaland House staffs celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with fanfare at Nagaland House 29-Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Road and R.K.Puram Sector 12, New Delhi. The National Flag was unfurled by Jyoti Kalash, Principal Resident Commissioner Nagaland House New Delhi in presence of all the staff.
The lunch was hosted by Dr. D. K. Bhalla, Chief Resident Commissioner, Jyoti Kalash, Principal Resident Commissioner and Kethosituo Sekhose, Deputy Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House New Delhi.
NCC: Cadets of National Cadet Corps today marched in sync with military tune on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day Parade at the Nagaland Secretariat, Kohima.
The NCC contingent comprised of girls and boys cadets drawn from 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC and 24 Nagaland(I) Coy NCC (Boys). This was first occasion that boys contingent were drawn from the Junior Division of NCC. The contingent was led by Sergant Viketo Aye, who commanded the parade as it passed the saluting dais. The girls contingent was led by JUO Alice.
Later in the day the cadets called upon the Governor of Nagaland for At Home function.
