Ind candidate Vimhalie Pienyü declares candidature & launches campaign for Kitsubozou

KOHIMA, JUNE 10: Independent candidate Vimhalie Pienyü today declared his candidature for the upcoming Kohima Municipal Council election from Ward No. 5 Kitsubozou.
Marking the occasion, Independent MLA of 14-Southern Angami-I Assembly Constituency Kevipodi Sophie kicked-off the election campaign in presence of former MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, host of family members and supporters of the colony at his residence here.
Speaking on the occasion, Sophie said the ULB elections in Nagaland have not been held for the last 2 decades mainly due to 33% women reservation and finally with consensus among the Naga people it is going to see the light of the day.
ULBs are very important in various aspects including healthcare, education, sanitation, water, etc as they have to look after the needs of the urban dwellers, he said.
Once elected ULB members will be there for 5 years and cannot be changed even if people do not feel they are the right candidate, Sophie said while encouraging the electorate to choose the best leader which he said is only Vimhalie for the Ward 5.
Vimhalie’s visions are good and decision very strong, he said, adding that the colony people will be sending the elected member to be among the 19 others in KMC and therefore they have to elect the one who can be for the ward in particular and also the welfare of Kohima Municipality in general.
“Vote Vimhalie to bring more development in the ward”, he appealed while also assuring that as an elected MLA of the Southern Angami-I A/C of which Kitsubozou is also a constituent, he would work together with Vimhalie for work the welfare of the people.
He said Vimhalie is an honest man who served the people with sincerity and dedication while being the Chairman of the colony.
Vimhalie Pienyü, speaking on the occasion, dwelled on his association with the colony for the last more than 16 years and also while being the colony Chairman. He said efforts were made to bring overall development during his leadership but fund constraints withheld the visions.
But now with the ULB elections, Vihmhalie assured that he would give his best if given the opportunity to represent the colony people in the higher platform.
Convenor of Election Core-Committee Keneizelie Chielie declared Vimhalie’s candidature while C Theyo Chief Agent of the candidate delivered a short message.
Ruokuohetuo Mechulho chaired the programme while Pactor of CRC Kohima Village, Vikhotsolie Üsou offered prayers.
Seyievinuo Chüzho and Bayie Kro-u enthralled the gathering with special songs and Vekhotso Rose tendered the vote of thanks.
