In separate cases, Kohima Police arrests 2 thieves

Dimapur, June 16: Kohima Police has arrested two persons in separate cases of theft and burglary at the State’s capital.
On Wednesday, a team of Kohima Police apprehended the accused involved in the June 15 burglary case at Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School (MHBHSS), Kohima.


A press release from Kohima Police informed that the arrested person has been identified as 22-year-old Daniel Phom, resident of Paira colony at Burma Camp in Dimapur.
Cash amounting to Rs 1,52,390 was recovered his possession, it added.
A case has been registered at South Police Station for further investigation.
In a separate incident, Kohima Police arrested another 22-year-old man, named Akhlas, from Dimapur Airport on June 14, in connection with a complaint lodged by a doctor about theft of personal documents and cash from his residence.
The stolen documents and cash amounting to Rs 2,71,700 was recovered from his possession.
The accused was working as a Lab Technician in a clinic run by the doctor, it stated.
“The accused was about to board a flight from Dimapur to Kolkata when he was arrested. The arrest was effected within an hour of receiving the complaint,” it informed.
