
Dimapur, September 12: The first School of Excellence in Skill Development in Nagaland was inaugurated by Advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Industries & Commerce, Imnatiba as a special guest on September 12 at Government Higher Secondary School, Sechu, Zubza.
The Advisor, while speaking at the program said that School of Excellence in Skill Development in collaboration with the School Education (DoSE) and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) GOI is a new kind of initiatives taken up by the Department in Government School with an aim to foster a paradigm shift to give new hope to the students and let them venture out into a new horizon to let them get access in self- employment and in other avenues when the state is facing unemployment problem with a huge margin.
The Advisor also encouraged the stakeholders, especially both the educators and learners to embrace the opportunity in motivating each other to make this project a successful and take it as an example to other schools in the near future.
Secretary, L&E, SD&E Department, Rajesh Soundararanjan, IAS who also spoke in the event said that it was a pride moments for the three departments in making the thoughts into action. He also said that it was a sign of proof and testament that the Government Departments can always converge together in bringing out such innovative projects to its fruition.
Director, School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe appealed the school management board not to keep school just for name sake but to be more serious especially the teachers and students so as to bring out the aims and objectives of the program in its best possible way.
Director, NIELIT, L Lanuwapang while congratulating the collaborating departments for such a noble initiative expressed hope that through this project the importance of Information Technology will come into limelight and move forward with many development activities in the future.
Earlier Director, DESD&E, Chiden Yaden gave a brief highlights of School of Excellence in Skill Development where he stated that the assigned syllabus will be done by the NIELIT with a unique concept, the course will start from class 8 and culminate by Class 10 so as to give the opportunity to the students to get IT certificate while passing out HSLC exams. The Certification will be done by NIELIT, GOI. Host of Officials from three departments attended the program.
Chairman, Sechu, Zubza, Khriengulie Kuotsu said the words of appreciation and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Secretary, School Management and Development Committee, Kedizelhou Rutsa and Addl. Secretary, L&E, SD&E Department, Kovi Meyase chaired the program.
