
Dimapur, March 30: A “Professional Development Program on Research Methodology & Research writing” was organised by the Research & Journal Committee, Immanuel College on March 30 at the college conference hall for the faculty members of the college with
Dr. Patrick Praveen Dukpa, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, St Joseph University, Chumoukedima as the Resource person. The objective of the program was to help the faculty members gain indepth knowledge about research methodology and research writing as it is the need of the hour and is also necessary for those who are a part of higher education.
The program had two technical sessions on Research Methodology and Research Writing. In his presentations, the resource person highlighted on the importance of research and the proper means and ways to go about it.
He added that research should be something which should be taken up as a challenge and not just something that one should do for the sake of the title. It should always be a systematic, logical, unbiased and a verifiable process. He also emphasized on the importance of reading and reviewing extensively as an important tool for research writing.
The sessions concluded with a light exercise by the resource person where every departments were given the challenge to think of one topic of research and the objectives of the given topic within five minutes which proved to be a highly beneficial exercise for the members present in the program.
The program was chaired by Gwesy Michuing, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Welcome address was delivered by Th Sharatchandra Singh, Principal, Immanuel College, Dimapur and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jichule Seb Convenor, Research & Journal Committee Immanuel College.
