Dimapur, January 8: Nagaland PHE Minister, Jacob Zhimomi today reiterated that extension of Inner Line Permit (ILP) to Dimapur District was not to harass any citizen but to know who is entering the State and for what purpose.
“It is to prevent illegal immigrants from illegally entering the State,” he said while addressing the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting on Wednesday.
Jacob Zhimomi, who is also the chairman of DPDB Dimapur, mentioned about the Government’s notification in 1979 where approval was given to extent tribal belt to the entire District of Dimapur and said that ILP was not a new concept.
There are various categories for tourists, labour class, skilled labour, renewal basis, SMS alerts and other technological involvement so there is no need to panic, he assured.

Necessary action will be taken against the defaulters, Zhimomi cautioned.
Jacob maintained that industrial units need to be far away from residential areas in tandem with the Central guidelines. He called upon the industry, pollution control board and labour departments to have a sitting and if need be cancel the registration of the defaulting industrial units.
