Dimapur, June 30: A farewell programme for the outgoing Chief Engineer Er S. Kughaho Sema was held at the office of Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control Department (IFCD) conference hall on Saturday. Additional Secretary Kevin Zehol IFCD chaired the programme.
Advisor, IFCD Namri Nchang in his brief speech stated that there are many Government officers who are not able to reach their retirement day due to ill health but it is a blessing for the outgoing officer to have come thus far. He encouraged all the staff and officers to follow the outgoing officer footsteps for his commendable work he has done for the Government and the people in general.
Outgoing Chief Engineer Er S Kughaho Sema delivering his farewell speech expressed gratitude to almighty God for all the providence and also for the occasion. Reflecting back to the past is important, he said as it is the repercussion of the present situation.
As government officials we have the deciding factor in our hand whether to stir the society to a brighter future or into a calamity, he said. He added that officers of the department have a great responsibility and can be an instrument to bring changes in the society. He also called upon the officers and staffs to uplift and look into the welfare of the common people. Concluding his speech he congratulated the incoming EE Er Tsuktinungsang and further extended wishes for a successful tenure as the chief.
Additional chief Engineer, Er. Tsuktinungsang, addressing the gathering said that everything comes to an end and so the journey of his colleague came to a wonderful ending. He shared that the outgoing officers in his years of service have never neglected his duties and that reflects the true leadership that he posses.
