Nagaland News

Kohima, April 20: With a view to provide platforms for the youngsters to decide on their higher educational institutions and develop career prospects, the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with the educational departments in the State will be holding a two day EduConnect Fare in Kohima.
IDAN Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alemtemshi Jamir made the announcement during a press conference held at IDAN office in Capital Convention Centre (3C) here today.
He said that IDAN has connected with around 30-40 genuine institutions across the country through the North East Education Council (NEEC) to come to Kohima for the EduConnect scheduled for May 10 and 11 at 3C.
In this, he said, government education departments – School Education, Higher Education and Technical Educations would be collaborating with IDAN to bring in aspiring students from 15 government institutes and other private institutions from across the State to participate in the fare.
The EduConnect will provide opportunities for the students to learn about the educational facilities provided by the different institutions and also decide on their career. It will be more of an exposure of the educational institutions for the Naga students.
“We want to select Naga boys and girls to have direct interaction with colleges and universities outside the state as many of them don’t know where to go and which institution to join for further studies,” he said.
The institutes and universities will set up stalls during the two day event while symposiums, workshops and seminars will be conducted on the nature of education, bank loans for prospective students, education policies etc, he said.
