ICU inaugurated at Tuensang Hospital

Dimapur, April 2: An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) constructed with the initiatives of Assam Rifles, Tuensang Chambers of Commerce & Industries (TCCI) and well wishers of Tuensang district was inaugurated on April 2 at District Hospital Tuensang. The Project ICU was successfully completed with the welfare support from Assam Rifles donating all ICU apparatus and equipment while the TCCI initiated the entire budgeting and materials collection with donation from well-wishers.
Inaugurating the ICU, Maj Gen P.C. Nair, IGAR, narrated the story of the origin of Project ICU. The need of ICU for the people of Tuensang has been materialized with support and also collective responsibility, which is a testimony of the individuals who contributed to the project, he said. The project was completed within a span of four months.
Principal Director Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Vikeyie Losu mentioned that the initiatives of the stake holders are encouraging and hoped that other districts of Nagaland will follow the footsteps of Tuensang. He assured that the necessary formalities of the department in the form of men power and ICU related shall be provided. He also appreciated the AR, TCCI and well wishers for making the project a reality.
Medical Superintendent Tuensang, Dr. Moa Jamir stated that it will be a motivation and inspiration for the doctors and nurses to come and work in District Hospital Tuensang. Welcome address was given by Dorothy Chang, President, TCCI and Brig S K Sheoram, spoke on behalf of AR. (Page News Service)
