Dimapur, November 16: Immanuel College Dimapur celebrated silver jubilee on November 14 with Menukhol John, Principal Secretary, School Education & SCERT, as the special guest. The celebration was held in the college campus to commemorate 25 years of the college existence.
In his speech, Menukhol John talked about the challenges that comes with the passage of time, urging the students to lead a healthy and a wise life, to be diligent in their studies as well as in the choices they make. He added that the teachers of today should also be able to cater to the demands of the generation by adapting more to the changes and not to be stagnant.
The programme was chaired by Natty H Chang, HoD, Department of English, unveiling of jubilee monolith by the special guest, dedicatory prayer by Rev. Kilang Jamir, Youth Harvest Ministry, welcome note and brief history by Th Sharatchandra Singh, Principal IMC, words from first batch by Nebalie Rio, special officer to the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
A short documentary highlighting 25 years journey of the college was also screened and presented by Khrutalu Dozo, Dept of Pol Sc. Jubilee greetings were presented by Dr A. Loso Chalai, chairman Governing Body, Sashimenla, vice president PTA, Lengrijan village council, B Nellayappan, Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education and former Assistant Prof Dept of Physics and Moses Newmai President, Alumni Association respectively.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Temsutola, convener, Jubilee Committee. (Page News Service)
