IC observes anti-ragging awareness day

Dimapur, June 15: An ‘anti-ragging awareness day’ was observed at Immanuel College, organised by the Anti-Ragging Committee on Friday at the college auditorium. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students about ragging.
Loli Athisii, Dean of Students, Immanuel College gave introduction on ragging to let the students understand what it actually is since it is not that prevalent in Nagaland but outside the State it is quite rampant. He said ragging in any form is a punishable offence under the law passed by the Supreme Court and supported by the UGC. He further dwelled on the impacts of ragging on the victim, how it can leave a permanent scar on the victims mind or sometimes even ruin the victim’s career.
