HSS issue guidelines for Durga Puja pandals


Dimapur, October 12: In view of the coming Durga Puja celebrations, the Hindu Seva Samiti has appealed to all puja pandals to maintain maximum cleanliness in and around the pandals in accordance to “Swach Bharat Abhiyan”.
In a release, the HSS also asked puja pandals to put up posters of Measles & Rubella vaccination campaign in the pandals for awareness. The posters are available at CMO office.
The HSS also instructed all to maintain public peace and tranquillity during the celebration of puja. It asked puja pandals to use sound systems in a controlled manner to avoid any disturbances to anyone.
Reminding all about the guideline issued by the Office of Commissioner of Police vide Permit No. CP/DMR/S-03(G)/2018/3131, dtd. 3th Oct 2018 and Nagaland Pollution Control Board, the HSS appealed to all the puja committees to abide by them.
It also directed office bearers of all puja committees to be present in their respective puja pandals in maximum and maintain law & order to avoid any untoward incident during the holy festival.
As administration has also issued caution regarding anti social activities and threat perception, the HSS asked all office bearers of respective puja pandals, volunteers and devotees to keep close vigil on any unclaimed articles, vehicles, etc., and take the help of police as and when required immediately. For convenience of administration, it suggested that one of the committee member’s contact number be provided to the nearest police station for co-ordination.
On October 19, HSS requested all puja pandal vehicles to line up with the idols at City Tower Junction from there they will start at 8:30 am towards Immersion Ghat. To avoid traffic hassles all puja committees were directed to control their volunteers, saying any dance which can disturb or block the traffic will not be allowed. In case any committee violate the directive, police will take stringent action for which Hindu Seva Samiti will not be held responsible, it said.
