Horti advisor visits Aree & Okotso villages


Dimapur, April 22: Advisor, Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan visited Aree old & new and Okotso village on April 20&21.
While interacting with the people of the area, Mhathung said his main focus will be to uplift the economic status of the neglected sector in his constituency, and which is why he had chosen these villages on his maiden official tour.
Yanthan assured the people that he will play a catalyst role on implementing Government policy and programme to uplift economic status of the people and added that government will do its best to uplift the area, however, he said that, the responsibility also lies with the people, how pro-actively they are responding to government policy and programmes. He added that Government alone cannot bring changes but people have to be enterprising and hard-working in order to move forward.
While acknowledging difficulties faced by the Government employees who are being posted there, he urged them to be in the station and serve the people, reminding them that they are the most enlightened people of the area who can bring a lot of impact through their services.
Director of Horticulture and MIDH, Dr. Elithung Lotha while interacting with the public said that to uplift the horticulture landscape of this particular area, the department provides logistic as well as technical know -how for the benefit of the people. Various department heads from the state, district and sub-division, who accompanied the advisor, also shared the department schemes and policy and urged the public to avail the opportunity for self- dependency.
The advisors also inspected the Aree old & new abandoned PHC building.
Earlier in the day, Advisor Horticulture made a brief stoppage at Doyang reservoir before embarking on his maiden tour.
