Hornbill Music Festival 2019 begins

Dimapur, December 1: The opening night of the Hornbill Music Festival 2019 got underway today here at the Agri Expo site.
Asin Shurhozelie started the set list for the first show titled ‘Crossroads’ followed by newbie Tokaholi Chishi.
Tali Angh, who is a gifted songwriter and musician also performed a set of original tracks. Singer of newly launched album ‘Warrior’, Ayim Longchar introduced and performed a list of his fresh tracks.
Nagaland’s seasoned Christian rock band, winners of the second edition of MTV’s Rock On, Divine Connection closed the night.
Earlier the Hornbill Music Festival was officially launched by Minister of Housing and Mechanical (PWD), Tongpang Ozukum. He expounded on the talent of the Naga people who possess the gift and talent to attract international attention to this small but vibrant state of India.
Keeping in mind the prodigious potential of the Naga youth, he spoke about the Government created music task force whose role is to promote Naga music and musicians. Keeping in mind the importance of music as a profession and also to be more inclusive, he mentioned that the present PDA Government has rebranded the Music Task Force into the Task Force for Music and Arts.
