Dimapur, July 30: Directorate of Higher Education organised a farewell programme in honour of outgoing Director, Dr. I .Anungla Aier & Addl. Director, Dr. Watijungshi today at conference hall, Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima.
Minister, H & TE, Temjen Imna Along speaking on the occasion said that farewells are not moments of sadness but a true moment of celebrations. He said that working with the two outgoing officers was always comfortable who had better ideas, suggestions, better view points, knowledge and intellectuality. “To be a scholar and to be an intellectual is to be humble and humanity is the greatest trend that can make you beyond what you can do it,” he said further stating that he saw those sparks of the humanity in both the officers.
He mentioned change is inevitable and is moving forward is a challenge. A Department dwelling on education is to be taken with seriousness, he said and encouraged all to prove themselves by their works and deeds.
Outgoing Director, Dr. I Anungla Aier in her speech quoted the simple words ‘The more I learn, the less I know” and mentioned that those words will continue to guide her life even after retirement.
Aier pointed that she is indebted to the department for nurturing her and called upon the officers and staff to continue their effortless devotion for the benefits of the students and for the welfare of the State.
Outgoing Additional Director, Dr. Watijungshi, in his farewell speech shared his work experiences and the things that he learned throughout his service. He expressed gratefulness to the officers and staff for the grand farewell programme and thanked them for always assisting him in his work. He further encouraged them to continue their team work with sincerity and dedication.
Short speeches was also delivered by Jt. Director, HE, Menuokholie Kire and Principal, Mt.Tiyi College, Wokha, Dr. Apeni Lotha.
