High Powered Committee to decide policy on COVID-19 in Nagaland; supervise State War Room

Dimapur, June 1: Minister, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu today informed that the state Cabinet reviewed the status of arrangements for COVID-19 pandemic and a High Powered Committee has been constituted to decide on policy matters relating to COVID-19, including supervision of the State War Room.
The Committee shall be chaired and co-chaired by Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister respectively. Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Minister, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Advisor, Information Technology and Science & Technology/New & Renewable Energy would be the members while Chief Secretary would be the Member Secretary. The Committee would be assisted by a team of senior officers.
It was also decided that besides Neiba Kronu, the Spokespersons on COVID-19 would be Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor, Information Technology, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy.
It was also decided that the Medical Department will compile the status of COVID-19 patients for briefing to the media with details like district wise number of asymptomatic patients and symptomatic patients like mild, moderate, severe, admitted in ICU with or without oxygen and on ventilator support.
The Cabinet further decided that, in view of the shortage of hospital facilities for COVID 19 in Dimapur, the Tourist Lodge, Dimapur can be converted into a COVID 19 Hospital.
Kronu further informed that a revised SOP for the returnees to Nagaland has also been brought out by the Government today.
He also informed that all existing guidelines with regard to the Lockdown in all parts of the State issued vide Order of even number dated 04.05.2020 will continue to remain operative till further orders.
