Heavy clashes between NSCN (K) & splinter group near Lahe reported

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 7: Heavy clashes between the NSCN (K) and the splinter group were reported from Lahe in Myanmar.
According to sources a fight erupted between the two factions this morning near Lahe town, not far from the Indo-Myanmar border. Sources said NSCN (K) attacked the camp of rival group led by Angmai and Langnyei around 8 a.m., near Lakhua village and Wanya village not far from Lahe town.
Angmai and Langnyei recently broke away from the NSCN (K).
After the death of SS Khaplang several Nagas from the Indian side deserted the outfit and have returned to Nagaland.
The Government of India has been trying to bring back Naga militants from India side who are taking shelter in Myanmar, through various channels, including tribal bodies. The Centre has succeeded in bringing back home several key militant leaders.
It remains to be seen whether the recently breakaway group would also cross over to India and sign a deal with the Union Government.
