Dimapur, April 23: A new Sub-Center at Tenyiphe-I village, under the Department of Health & Family Welfare was inaugurated by I Himato Zhimomi, Principal Secretary, Health & FW Nagaland on April 22. The inaugural program began with the unveiling of the Tenyiphe-I village Sub-Center plaque by Himato.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Himato Zhimomi informed the gathering that the Government is now prioritizing preventives measures at the Sub-Centre level unlike in the past, where the health centre focused on the curative aspects.
He further informed that all Sub-Centres would be upgraded to Health & Wellness Centres where disease prevention would be prioritized. Besides physical wellness, psychological wellness of a patient will also be cared for.
He further stated that until new staffs are appointed and posted at the newly inaugurated Sub-Centre, staffs from other health units in the district may be adjusted and redeployed to Tenyiphe-I Village SC so as to make the centre functional at the earliest.
Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer Dimapur states that the immediate requirement of the new Sub-Centre is health workers to be appointed and posted at the centre.
He assured that the District Health Department with the help State Officials will make the health unit functional at the earliest once the staffs are posted.
Short speech was also delivered by Nolesa Zhotso, Head GB Tenyiphe village, and Helie Kruse, Chairman Tenyiphe VC. The function was chaired by K. James Yalie, VDB Secretary and vote of thanks was delivered by Lucy Sophie. The inaugural prayer was led by Pastor Razoukhul Tetso and the benediction by Pastor Razouvolie Vimero.
Other officials present during the function were Dr. Antoly Suu, Dy.CMO, Dr. Rebecca, Dr. Imtiwabong, Dr. Chem, Dr. Heto, Kikolul, DPMU staffs and BPM Chumukedima.
