Health Mela held at GMS Lilen village

Dimapur, April 22: A 1-day health mela was held on April 16 last at Government Middle School Lilen Village, Jalukie Blockalso covering other nearby villages Peren District located 24kms approx from District Headquarter. This was the first medical camp conducted by the Health & Family Welfare Department in this area.
A Medical Team headed by Dr. Denis Hangsing, CMO and other’s including Dr. Yartenla, Dy. CMO, Dr. Nukshisangla, DPO UIP/RCH, Dr. YetoviTucca, Obs&Gynae SMO Jalukie, Dr. Albert, MD, Dr. Lungkeuding, Paediatrition, Dr. Martha, MODungki, Dr. Ramdeu, MOHeningkunglwa PHC, Dr. Gloria, Dental Surgeon, Nurses, Ophthalmic assistant, paramedics, Counselors and lab technician ICTC, IEC personnel, Surveillance worker malaria, NHM Staff, ASHA’s and AWW’s took part in the Health Mela providing their services to the people.
The Chief Medical Office also extended its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Nagaland Medicines Dealers Association for contributing some free Medicines for the Health Mela. The Village Council chairman also expressed his profound gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Medical Team for conducting the camp in Lilen Village.
Free health checkups and free medicines were given along with the services of specialized Doctors.
The Mela witnessed hundreds of people thronging the center. Patients numbering to 367 availed free medical services at the Health Mela. There were a total of 38 Gynae patients, 86 MD, 85Paediatrics, 128 General and 30 dental patients. Under the Family Planning services, condoms, Mala N and ec pills were distributed, a total of 20 dental extractions were done, immunization was given to children, 13 ANC for pregnant women and counseling &blood test for HIV, malaria and Urine sugar test and RBS and HB test and vision tests- eye screening were done
Awareness was done in the form of IPC session and FGD’s and counseling was conducted regarding health talks on Family planning and Adolescents health care, Child Health Immunization, Maternal Health and HIV/AIDS. Nutritional package was also given to all the pregnant women and lactating mothers. (Page News Service)
