Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2: The Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court has asked the top officials of Nagaland Government ~ Chief Secretary and Commissioner ~ to dispose of within two months the representations submitted by the embattled IAS officer Reny Wilfred.
As previously reported by Nagaland Page, said representations filed by Reny ~ one each to the Chief Secretary and the Commissioner ~ on October 13 last year contains certain allegations against the former Superintendent of Police (SP) Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur.
Reny has claimed that while he was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Noklak “there was concerted lack of co-operation from the subordinate officers of the district, more particularly from the then Superintendent of Police, Noklak”.
“The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that this writ petition may be disposed of with a direction to the State respondents to dispose of the two representations both submitted on October 13, 2022 to the State respondents.
“The learned Additional AG has not objected to the disposal of the writ petition with the direction to the State respondents to dispose of the representations of the petitioner dated October 13, 2022; he, however, submits that since the petitioner is an IAS officer, certain procedures have to be followed and time may be granted for the State respondents to reply to the representations so submitted”, stated an order issued by Justice Marli Vankung on September 29.
After hearing the submissions, the Judge disposed of the petition with a direction to the State respondents to consider and dispose of the representations submitted by Reny within two months from the date of receiving a certified true copy of the order.
As reported by this newspaper, Reny is currently being tried at the POCSO Court of Tuensang for alleged molestation of two minor girls during his stint as Noklak DC.
The POCSO Court resumed the trial after the Supreme Court had rejected Reny’s petition to have his case transferred to any other Special Court (POCSO) within Nagaland. The Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court HAD ALSO rejected his appeal for the same.
Reny was recently transferred as Joint Secretary of Finance from his previous position at Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).
