Haven’t interfered in any Court proceedings on LBCA: Lotha Hoho

Nagaland News

Know ground reality; State Govt. shouldn’t intervene

DIMAPUR, JUNE 12: The Lotha Hoho today clarified and affirmed that it has not interfered in any Court proceedings on Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA).
The Lotha Hoho listed some Court cases and asked the state Government to verify from the concerned courts whether the Lotha Hoho has interfered in any Court proceeding and whether what the State Government is doing is right.
According to a press release issued by Lotha Hoho Chairman, Er. Mhondamo Ovung and general secretary, S Abenthung Ngullie, the High Court Case No.(Civil) 13/22 (linked Case Review Pet.3/2021), which is ongoing in the Kohima Bench of Gauhati HC, is filed by the Legal Cell of Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC) for possession of the Sector Church Buildings and immovable assets. This Review Petition has nothing to do with either the LBCA or the Lotha Hoho.
It stated that the Criminal Complaint C.R. No.4 of 2021, registered in the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Wokha, is ongoing between Rev. Dr. L Tsanso, and members of Modality Committee, WTBC, for defamation message posted by Rev. Dr. Tsanso, in social media. The Criminal Complaint is against Rev. Dr. L Tsanso personally, but not against the LBCA. Such a Legal proceeding involving a church leader is a valid reason for disqualification/removal. This Criminal Complaint Case has been misconstrued, as though against the LBCA.
It further stated that the CRL REVN 2/2021 is filed by Rev. Dr. Tsanso in the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court against 5 (five) members of the Modality Committee, WTBC, which is ongoing, is between Rev. Dr. L Tsanso personally and members of Modality Committee, WTBC, for defamation message posted by Rev. Dr. Tsanso, in social media. The Criminal Complaint has nothing to do with either the Lotha Hoho or the LBCA. Such a Legal proceeding involving a church leader is a valid reason for disqualification/removal. This Criminal Complaint Case has been misconstrued, as though against the LBCA, the Lotha Hoho stated.
The Hoho inferred that the State Government authorities have been misguided by the letter of Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, dated March 27, 2022.
It clarified that the Lotha Hoho knows the ground reality, what is good for the Lothas as a whole, who is doing right and who is doing wrong and the matter is also within Lotha community, hence the State Government should not intervene.
