Dimapur, June 28: Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya on Wednesday visited ‘The Kalyan Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd.’, a multistate scheduled co-operative bank in Maharashtra.
During the interaction with the board members of the Bank, he informed about the efforts and progress made during last 4 years in Northeastern states including Nagaland in terms of infrastructural development to connect the mainland and programmes that have been undertaken by the state Government with the support of the Central Government for furthering integration and appealed all to visit Nagaland to enjoy the hospitality of locals.
Chairman of the Bank, Advocate Suresh Patwardhan on the occasion felicitated Acharya and his wife Kavita Acharya.
Dr. Ratnakar Phatak, a director, briefed about selfless social work undertaken by the visiting dignitary, especially his sterling social work in Northeastern states.
Banks directors’ trust presented a cheque of Rs.51,000/- to the Governor for Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao project of Nagaland Government.
