Dimapur, May 5: Governor PB Acharya has greeted the people of Nagaland on the occasion of the World Red Cross Day on May 8 next with a call to reaffirm commitment to relieve human suffering, protect human lives and dignity and respond to emergencies.
In a message, the Governor, who is also the President of IRCS Nagaland State Branch, call on all to have a generous heart, kind speech and a life of service and compassion, which, he said, are essential for nurturing humanity.
“On this significant day let us reiterate that ‘selfless service’ lies at the heart of the Red Cross Movement and all of us should reaffirm our commitment to relieve human suffering, protect human lives and dignity and respond to emergencies,” he said.
Acharya said the Nagaland Chapter of IRCS since its inception has grown and has been rendering humanitarian network in the State by providing humanitarian values, disaster response and health care in the community. He appreciated all officers, member of IRCSN for their hard work and sincerity in helping the needy people of the State.
