Dimapur, July 31: Governor of Nagaland P B Acharya has extended greetings to Ao and Chang communities on the occasion of Tsungremong and Naknyulüm festivals respectively.
In his message, the Governor said Tsungremong marks the end of rigorous plantation besides nursing the paddy fields and called on the Aos to take time and thank Almighty for His unwavering love and blessing.
He also called on all to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals and to come together and rededicate ourselves to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.
The Governor also opined that Tsungremong should provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength.
He also encouraged the Aos to safeguard and promote their rich culture and traditions through the festival.
“May the festival of Tsungremong bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Ao’s in particular and Nagas in general,” the Governor said.
In a separate message, the Governor said Naknyulüm Festival symbolizes the conquest of light over darkness. He urged the people to resolve and to eradicate evils in society and celebrate the festival with traditional peace, unity and harmony.
The Governor also opined that of Naknyulüm should provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength. He also encouraged the Chang’s to safeguard and promote their rich culture and traditions through the festival.
Governor Acharya hoped that the festival inspire all to work for the unity and well-being of the country and to strengthen the moral foundations of the society. (Page News Service)
