Dimapur, April 15: Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has extended Wangtsunuo greetings to the Yimchunger community and to the people of Nagaland.
“Wangtsunuo means “hut making festival”. It is celebrated to invoke God’s blessings for a plentiful harvest and protection of the crops from natural disasters.
“It is a time to bond with one another. During the celebrations, Yimchungers exhibit their magnificent traditions and customs wherein the youth familiarize themselves with their roots,” said Ravi in a message.
Calling upon all to celebrate the festival by observing all Covid-19 protocol, the Governor wished all good health, peace and prosperity.
Dy CM: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has extended Wangtsunuo greetings to the Yimchunger community.
In a message issued on Thursday, Patton said that the festival is a time to foster unity and friendship. He urged the people to celebrate with caution ‘as the second wave of COVID is casting a shadow of uncertainty’.
On behalf of the State BJP legislators also, Patton sent greetings.
