Guv extends Janmashtami greetings

Dimapur, August 11: Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi has extended warm greetings on the occasion of Janmashtami to the people of Nagaland.
Janmashtami festival celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna.During the festival, plays of Krishna’s childhood are demonstrated symbolizing the joyful innocence of children, and that love and life’s play is the manifestation of god.
Ravi said, “Krishna was born at a time of chaos, when evil was everywhere. A time which we can relate considering the Covid-19 situation we are facing today.”
He stated Hindus celebrate Janmashtami by fasting, singing, praying together, preparing and sharing special food and night vigils.
“Let us do the same with the thoughts of improving our conditions as we fight the pandemic today,” he said and wished everyone peace and happiness as they observe the festival at home. (Page News Service)
