Guv, CM extends Moatsü greetings

Dimapur, May 1: Governor of Nagaland and Assam Professor Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton have extended greetings to the people of the occasion of Moats? festival of Ao Nagas.
Governor Mukhi in his greeting message said Moats? is a celebration after the seeds have been sown in the fields. He said Moats? is also a time to celebrate the strong community bonding and carry on the centuries old traditional legacy. The Governor wished good health, peace and happy celebrations to the people.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio hoped that God Almighty’s blessings of good health and happiness will be upon every household and the festivities strengthen bonds of friendship and love.
On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton wishes them a very blessed Moats? festival filled with fun and fervor.
Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland S Phangnon Konyak in her greeting message expressed that just as this festival brings us all together for bonding over celebrations, we must ensure that we continue to strengthen our efforts to achieve lasting unity and embrace the true spirit of togetherness.
State BJP President and Minister Temjen Imna Along, legislators Zhaleo Rio and Zale Neikha have also greeted the Ao community on the occasion.
NSCN (Akato): The NSCN faction led by Akato Chophy has extended greetings on the occasion of ‘Moatsü’ which is celebrated by the Ao community.
“May the festive occasions bring good tidings and prosperity to our Ao brothers and sisters so that they may continue to be the torchbearers and pioneers in many fields, and to instill a sense of responsibilities to other fellow Nagas” it stated in a message issued on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton also greeted the Ao community on occasion of Moatsu.
Patton said that the Ao community has always been known for preserving their rich cultural heritage and the same goes with their festivals.
“A couple of years have passed without proper celebrations due to the pandemic. This year I believe that it will be celebrated with grandeur”, he stated while wishing them a blessed festival on behalf of the State BJP Legislators.
