Dimapur, April 24: The Green Succession Of Nagaland State (Green SONS) on Wednesday submitted a plea to the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited asking the office to rectify the power grid line from DHEP, Doyang to Dimapur within 7 days.
In a letter addressed to the General Manager/Officer-in-Charge, the NGO cautioned that if PGCIL fails to comply with the request, the organization will be compelled to file a PIL against the corporation after the dead line.
The Green SONS stated that due to the faulty arrangements, on last October 24 two elephants were electrocuted at Sanis regarding which the PGCIL was notified on November 2 by the Forest Department but till now no elevation of the cables have been done. After that event, the low lying cables led to wildlife in the month of February this year and on April 7 this year, more elephants were electrocuted.
