‘Great Escape’ off-road event on April 27

Dimapur, April 24: After a gap of six years, Mahindra Adventure is organizing its “Great Escape”, a single-day off-road event for Mahindra SUV owners in Nagaland. The event, which is scheduled to take place on April 27 at Shalom Resort, Dimapur will be the 160th Great Escape.
Talking about the upcoming event with the media fraternity here at Muffets Pantry, Duncan Basti, Dimapur, Ashwin Naik of Indian Motor Sports Club (IMSC) said that this would be single event for the North East Region and from here four participants would be selected for the final event to be held at Mumbai.
Throughout the country, 13 such regional events would be conducted and about 50 participants would be selected from these events who would then compete against each other next year in the finale. Mahindra Adventure will pay for to and fro fare to the participants and take care of their stay and other requirements. They will also be provided cars from the Mahindra for the finale. The winner of the final event will walk away with a brand new Mahindra Thar SUV.
He stated that the idea of Great Escape was to expand the Mahindra Adventure family and also give Mahindra customers a chance to experience the thrill of off-roading. He further added that Great Escape is the perfect platform for participants to not only understand their vehicles capabilities but also sharpen their driving skills.
The contest has been categorized into categories i.e., Modified and Stock. Ryan Lee of Mahindra Adventures stated that if there are enough women contestants, a separate category for the women drivers can also be created.
The registration fee for the event has been fixed at Rs 15,000 for two people, and Rs 4000 for the trail drive, also for two people. The fee will cover the cost for t-shirts, foods and other requirements. The registrations can be on spot or online visiting www.mahindraadventure.com.
The event is being organised by Mahindra Adventures, coordinated by Indian Motor Sports Club (IMSC), and in collaboration with Apex Motor Enterprise, Dimapur and Nagaland Adventure Motor Sports Association.
