GPS enabled Solid Waste Management App launched


Dimapur, February 17: The Adoption Committee for 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency under Kohima District Planning and Development Board 2018-19, adopting Midland Ward was launched GPS enabled Solid Waste Management Vehicle Mobile App by the MLA for 8 Western Angami and Advisor of Ward Adoption Committee, Keneizhakho Nakhro in presence of CEO Smart City Dev. Corp. Ltd, Kovi Meyase and Ward Panchayat members on February 16 at APO Building, Kohima.
The pilot project is being initiated by the ward adoption committee n collaboration with KSCD Ltd. The mobile app is envisaged to enhance management efficiency and easy accessibility of the SWM vehicles directly interfacing with the citizens on smart phones.
Through the app the citizens can track the movement and the speed limit at which the vehicle is plying. Citizens/users can also get alert of the arrival of the SWM vehicle on their mobile phones when the vehicle is approaching the waste collection point.
The Adoption Committee urged the denizens of the ward to utilize the service for better efficiency and provide relevant feed backs as this is a pilot project which will be replicated to other wards under the Kohima Smart City project if proved successful. (Page News Service)
