Govt to provide free WiFi hotspots in State

Kohima, April 14: Nagaland Government will soon provide free WiFi hotspots in State capital Kohima and all Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Advisor for Information Technology, Science & Technology, MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon made the announcement during the Nagaland Innovation Expo 2018.
The expo was organized by Kohima Science College, Students Union Jotsoma (KCSUJ) and sponsored by Department of Science and Technology and co-sponsored by Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland at the college premises here today.
He said the decision to this effect was taken Friday by the NDPP-led PDA Government in Nagaland.
The facility will be provided in Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma, the three campuses of Nagaland University – Lumami, Kohima and Medziphema and all DC offices in some months time after setting up all necessary machineries, Kikon said.
Kikon hoped that the students will get benefit from such facility as it was targeted at pushing them forward in their academic career.
Lauding the initiation of Nagaland Innovation Expo, Kikon assured fullest support from the Government side, adding that the Government will also be starting the process of institutionalizing it.
Kikon also declared that the Government would support the initiative and make it as an annual affair in Nagaland.
Assistant Prof. Wenyitso Kapfo chaired the inaugural session and Principal of Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma, Dr Lily Sema delivered the welcome address. Introductory note of the expo was presented by KSCSUJ Science Club Secretary Keyileurangbe Thou. (Page News Service)
