Dimapur, April 9: Nagaland remains COVID-19 free with 65 of 69 samples sent for testing returning negative while results for 4 samples are awaited.
The Government of Nagaland has also ordered a magisterial inquiry by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nuiland into the incident involving Dr Nosezol Sezo, an Orthopaedic Surgeon of Civil Hospital, Dimapur who reportedly was assaulted and his vehicle damaged while he was returning home on April 3 by police personnel on duty enforcing the lockdown measures.
The inquiry will go into all the facts and circumstance leading to the incident and fix responsibilities on those guilty. The inquiry officer has been asked to submit the report latest by April 18.
Informing this, Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha IAS informed that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today reviewed the COVID-19 situation and the state of preparedness of the Health Department. The meeting was attended by several Ministers, Advisors and senior officers.
On the position of availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential goods and commodities, he said it continue to be normal in the State. (Page News Service)
