Govt officials holds meet with ZOAN at Peren

Dimapur, May 25: Peren District administration and Medical Department held a meeting with Zeliang Officer’s Association Nagaland (ZOAN) on May 23 at Customary Court, ADC Office Jalukie. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of ZOAN President, HiazuMeru.
Deputy CMO Peren, Dr Supongmenla Walling, DSO, Dr Kevi Meyase and SMO CHC Jalukie, Dr. Yetovi Tuccu highlighted on the action plan and preparedness status of quarantine centres & COVID Hospital. The Medical Department officials also briefed the ZOAN office bearers on the inadequate infrastructure, shortage of PPEs as well as lack of manpower at designated COVID Hospital, CHC Jalukie.
ZOAN president, Hiazu Meru stated the purpose of the meeting was to ascertain the preparedness of Peren DTF in the fight against the global pandemic as well as to extend solidarity to all the frontline workers for their selfless services rendered and further encouraged them to continue to work selflessly with equal zeal. He assured that ZOAN will look forward to assist the District administration and Medical Department in all possible.
The visiting officials donated Rs 1 lakh to DC Peren to utilize in the management of quarantine centres. They also inspected Peren District designated COVID Hospital, CHC Jalukie to assess the preparedness and also to take stock of the resources available.
The team later headed to Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church conference hall for an interaction with Joint Action Committee (JAC) on COVID-19 wherein Rs 30,000 and a total of 50 face masks were donated to JAC, which was received by JAC convener, Dr Tumda Newme.
Facility quarantine centres nodal officer, SDO (C), Kemciyile apprised the visiting officials that plantain or banana leaf being a biodegradable products, it will be used as an alternative for packing food items for serving the inmates in quarantine centres due to its eco-friendly waste disposal.
ZOAN officials along with facility quarantine centres nodal officer also inspected identified facility quarantine centre at JNV School and St. Xavier College Auditorium. (Page News Service)
