Govt committed to support young Naga entrepreneurs: Imnatiba

Kohima, August 22: The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government in Nagaland is ever ready to support the young Naga fashion designers and entrepreneurs, said MLA Imnatiba.
Speaking on the second day Tech Fest – Redefining Ideas, which was marked by fashion show and music at IG Stadium here, Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, MLA Imnatiba said lamented that the conventional education system has been leaving thousands of educated unemployed in the State.
“Nagaland has highest number of educated unemployed youths but also has the highest number of government employees,” he said while attributing the increasing number of unemployed youths to the conventional education system.
In this, he said, with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to the helm of affairs at the Centre introduced new department for skill development of the youths and India is now progressing towards knowledge economy.
Maintaining that the PDA government under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is serious for welfare of Naga youths, he called upon the Naga youths to avail the opportunity of skill development and get into entrepreneurship to be self reliant.
In this, he said, the fashion industry is booming throughout the country while there are lots of Naga achievers in the field. He reiterated that the government is always ready to support the young Naga fashion entrepreneurs in every possible manner.
Meanwhile, appreciating the Technical Education Department for holding the first ever Tech Fest, the Advisor expressed hope that it will help in bring forth the technical knowledge of the Naga youths.
The evening was marked by designs of the Alumnis and fifth semester students of Department of Fashion Design & Apparel Production under Government Polytechnic Kohima, GPK.
The last day of the Tech Fest will be marked by technical model presentations by the six government polytechnics, Gaming, Debate, Robotics, paper presentation, bridge designing at GPK Auditorium while the closing function and prize distribution will be held at 5 p.m. at IG Stadium.
