Govt ask veterinary establishments to open during lockdown

Dimapur, April 7: The Government of Nagaland has notified that all veterinary hospitals, veterinary dispensaries, veterinary health centre’s, laboratories, disease diagnostics & quarantine check posts including private veterinary clinics and pharmacies within the jurisdiction of Nagaland State shall remain functional during the lockdown period.
In a notification, commissioner & secretary Alan Gonmei, IAS said all livestock & poultry farming operations both under Government & private sector shall be continued during the lockdown period. Animal feed plants both under Government & private sector including transportation/ inter-state movement of animal feed & fodder being essential item shall remain operational, he said.
The notification said all dairy processing plants shall remain operational ensuring procurement from producer farmers and smooth supply of milk & milk products to consumers.
It directed all concerned functionaries and personnel to discharge their responsibilities with the strictest adherence to personal hygiene/workplace hygiene and safety during the lockdown period. “Except in the dispensation of their duties, the functionaries are advised to strictly desist from misuse of movement other than in their assigned area of work/route which may invite appropriate action under the present advisory in force,” it cautioned.
