Dimapur, June 14: The Government of Nagaland has appealed to NHM employees to immediately call off their cease work in the interest of public service.
In a letter addressed to NEAN, Mission Director, NHM, Dr Kevichusa Medikhru regretted that the unprecedented step to go on indefinite cease work from June 14 was taken without even giving the Department any prior notice or call for redressal.
The Department said it is willing to give impartial hearing to the demands of the NHM employees and urged them to come forward for open discussion for redressal of the grievances.
Reminding that there is shortage of manpower in the Department to combat the current pandemic situation, the Department acknowledged the services rendered by the NHM employees not only at this period of time but also in the past.
The Department said it has already initiated steps to address the issue and has even invited NEAN team for discussion on the matter today (June 14) itself, which unfortunately could not materialize due to unresponsiveness from NEAN’s end.
“In the light of the above and being fully aware of the need to combat and contain the COVID-19 pandemic where number of positive cases in the State is increasing over the time, it is requested to immediately call off the cease work, in the interest of public service so that together we can achieve our target to mitigate the present pandemic situation at hand,” the Department appealed.
