Governor visits ‘Naga Reju’ in Chennai


Dimapur, September 7: Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya visited “NAGA REJU”, a Naga restaurant in Chennai near Loyola College, run by Maong Jamir from Nagaland, who is also pursuing his PhD from Chennai, during his recent visit to the city on August 25.
Governor Acharya and his Lady Wife, Kavita Acharya lauded Maong and his wife for their passion in taking up entrepreneurship in spite of having excelled in academics and stated that both of them were a source of inspiration for many budding entrepreneurs.
The Governor felt that more educated youth should take up entrepreneurship.
“Working for others is a kind of Slavery. Be your own and create employment by entering into co-operative Entrepreneurship,” he said.
The Governor also lauded the “NAGA REJU” for taking effort to popularize Naga cuisine. He also encouraged the owners to exhibit and market the beautiful handicrafts and handlooms of Nagaland in their Restaurant so as to promote the rich tradition and culture.
The Governor also suggested decorating the infrastructure and utensils used in serving to Naga Traditional Wooden Bowls, Bamboo Mugs, Wooden Serving Spoons, Wooden Plates, etc so as to attract customers and also promote Nagaland products.
Governor Acharya and his Lady Wife had the Naga Meal with the owner and workers of the restaurant and congratulated them for their wonderful effort towards spreading the culture of Nagaland. (Page News Service)
