Dimapur, September 8: Braving the scorching heat of Dimapur, Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya visited the Dream Dragon fruit farm at Shitovi village located some 20 kms away from Dimapur city on September 7 to encourage and acknowledge the bold lady agricultural entrepreneur Lucy Ngullie Thomas.
Highly impressed with the standard of the farm which is being meticulously maintained, Acharya advised Lucy to sent pictures of her farm along with a write up about the medicinal benefits of dragon fruit to the Prime Minister of India and also a copy to Raj Bhavan Kohima.
Acharya spent more than an hour in the Dream Dragon Fruit Farm admiring the exotic tropical fruits ranging from ornamental pineapples, Gac fruits, exotic guavas, Rambutan, Avocado, Fig, Longan, Mangosteen, Durian and Soursop besides the four variety of white, red, yellow ad orange fleshed dragon fruits. He congratulated Lucy Ngullie Thomas mentioning that she has taken up a wonderful job.
Further, the Governor also advised the GB of Shitovi village who was also present to motivate each and every household in putting up at least 10 pillars per household by taking advice from Lucy on the process of cultivating dragon fruit. The Governor said that he browsed the net to know more about the fruit and revealed that he was amazed to learn about the multiple health benefits.
The Governor was accompanied by DHO, Temsu, DPRO, Lolano Patton, EAC, Wiridin, police officials besides his ADC and OSD. (Page News Service)
