Dimapur, November 24: Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi has conveyed his condolence on the demise of former Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi.
Governor tweeted “Death of Shri Tarun Gogoi has deeply saddened me. The country has lost a senior statesman. Let his soul rest in peace!”
NPP Nagaland: The National People’s Party, Nagaland State has expressed shock at the demise of veteran Congress leader and three-term Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi.
In a condolence message, the NPP Nagaland State stated that Tanur Gogoi’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Assam not only brought about equitable and inclusive development of Assam but also laid emphasis on bringing the Northeast Region on the map of progress and development.
Stating that with his death, the entire country along with the people of Assam has lost a staunch supporter of human rights and dignity, the NPP said Gogoi was greatly revered by his contemporaries as well as the young and upcoming leaders of all parties alike for his deep sense of dedication, wisdom, political acumen and sense of humor.
NPP Nagaland State conveyed deep condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty grant moral and spiritual courage to bear with the immense loss.
NPYC: The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) mourned the untimely demise of Late Tarun Gogoi, former Chief Minister of Assam.
As a staunch Congress loyalist, our beloved leader has contributed immensely towards the interest and welfare of the people of Assam, Northeast and the party, a condolence message received here stated.
It further stated that the Indian National Congress party has loss a tall, dynamic and people’s leader, “whose place is irreplaceable and the void created cannot be filled by anyone. We will always remember and cherish his exemplary deeds contributed towards the party and generation to come.”
NPYC president Vilhousielie Kenguriise prayed to God to grant solace and comfort to the bereaved families.
