Governor interacts with students of St Josephs University


Dimapur, September 18: Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya interacted with students of Josephs University, Dimapur who participated in the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship 2018 at Raj Bhavan Kohima today.
Highlighting the Governor on the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship, Dr. Pramodini Magh Rengma said that the Department of Social Work had organized a Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship (100 hours of Swachhta) at Woroku village under Wokha Disrtict from June 7 to 19 to promote ‘swachhta’in the village. She stated the main objective of the internship programme was to engage youth across the country to develop their skills, orient them for sanitation related work and to make Swachh Bharat Mission a “jan andolan”.
Dr. Pramodini also added that various activities were conducted by the students including interaction with adolescence girls, youth and villagers, street plays, waste material collection drive, training on solid waste management, etc.
Governor Acharya congratulated the students in being a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship and hoped that the experience will have a positive impact in every aspect of their life.
The Governor encouraged the students to practice and put into action the activities learned and to be agents of the Swachh Bharat movement.
The students were also given Certificate of Achievement by the Governor on completion of their internship programme. Nine students from the Department of Social Work, St Josephs University along with two lecturers interacted with Governor Acharya. (Page News Service)
