Dimapur, April 17: Governor RN Ravi interacted with the toppers and rank holders of HSLC and HSSLC 2020 at Dr. Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan in Kohima on April 16 and 17.
A Raj Bhavan press release on Saturday informed that the event could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“During the detailed one-to-one interactive session with the rank holders, Governor expressed his great delight at the interaction with the young people who are the future of our nation. He advised them to dream big, have unwavering self-confidence backed by determined hard work and take care of their physical, intellectual and spiritual health,” it stated.
Ravi underscored the importance of day-to-day time management and stringent discipline in their personal life, and advised them to stay away from social media “which could be a fatal distraction”.
He urged them to inculcate reading habits and read books authored by reputed writers; and to remain humble and appreciate the contributions of their parents, teachers, siblings and even strangers to their success. “Everything goes to waste when you are not a good human being,” he said.
Ravi also advised the NBSE chairperson to create a digital connect with all the toppers and rank holders to ascertain their progress in life and also help them remain connected with each other. He appealed to the students to always follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
Short speech was delivered by KT Sukhalu, Advisor for School Education. Shanavas C, Principal Director for School Education and Aotula Imchen, DCP-II Dimapur, gave inspirational messages to the young achievers.
