CM underscores balance diet and decent lifestyle

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 29: Stating that illness and diseases are directly related to our lifestyle and eating habits, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today urged all to maintain a balance diet and decent lifestyle.
He was speaking at the Ayushman Bhavah Mela-cum-inaugural programme of new Botsa PHC building at the Botsa PHC premises.
Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan inaugurated the mela and the building.
Rio also stressed on the importance of early treatment and diagnostics, which may save lives of many. Go for regular check-ups so that one will not face any prolonged illness, he advised.
According to a DIPR report, the CM also stressed on the importance of CMHIS and urged everyone to avail the facility, which will not only ease the burden of the general public but Government servants as well.
Rio said the PHC was constructed at a record time and lauded the contractors, and everyone involved for giving quality construction and facilities in the completion of the PHC. He stated that the PHC will provide better medical facilities and requested the public to take advantage of the medical facilities. He also lauded the medical fraternity for receiving the 4 best awards during the Arogya Manthan 2023.
Earlier inaugurating the PHC building, Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan stated that healthcare is one of the most critical sectors for development and quality healthcare forms the bedrock of any prosperous society. He said it was a significant milestone in the journey towards providing comprehensive health care to the people.
On the Ayushman Bhavah mela, he said the drive for health quality is the cornerstone of the Ayushman Bhavah initiative. He reminded everyone of the importance of collaboration, be it governmental bodies, healthcare providers, or the public, we need to work together to make the dream of “health for all” a reality as we move forward.
Commenting on the participation of the health professionals, volunteers and village authorities, the Governor expressed confidence that their knowledge, skills, passion and above all their willingness to serve their fellowmen will make the Ayushman Bhavah campaign a success.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak said “Ayushman Bhavah” campaign was virtually launched by the President of India on September 13, 2023 and the campaign was implemented across the country in mission mode from September 17 and Seva Pakhwada Fortnight Activities will end on October 2 but other activities will continue till December 1, 2023. He also shared that Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) Nagaland has won 4 National Awards in the recently held “Arogya Manthan 2023” in the following categories – Full Utilization of Allocated Fund; Prompt Anti-Fraud Actions, Ayushman Utkrishtata Award 2023 for Best Claim Settlement Performance and for Highest Ayushman Card Generation among Small States.
On the PHC building, the Minister mentioned that the project was sanctioned under NESIDS in 2021 with a total project cost of Rs. 152.30 lakh. The total plinth area of the building is about 7200 sqft comprising of 16 rooms and 7 toilets. The execution of the project is record breaking as the work was completed in record time and without making any advance payment to the contractor. He thanked the contractor M/s Keduo Zumu for setting an example to people of Nagaland to emulate, as doing business is not only for making profit but is equally responsible for the development and progress of the society.
The programme was attended by Village Council Chairman of 12 villages, senior citizens and students.
