Governor Acharya also called on all to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals and to come together and rededicate ourselves to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.
Governor Acharya hoped that the Zeliang community would continue to preserve and promote their age-old traditions and showcase the rich cultural heritage as they celebrate their premier festival.
‘May the festivals of Chaga Gadi and Langsimnyi bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Zeliang’s in particular and Nagas in general’ the Governor said.
Leader of Opposition, T R Zeliang has extended greetings to the Zeliang community on the auspicious occasion of Chega-Gadi/Lamsimnyi festival, one of the most significant festivals of the Zeliang Tribe.
In a message, Zeliang said though traditionally, the date of the celebration often differed from village to village, today it is celebrated on October 30 and 31 every year to bring a sense of oneness amongst the varied villages while celebrating this joyous festival.
“A festival of love, joy and forgiveness, may this festive season strengthen the bond of family with the virtue of care and sharing with each other the little that we have. May the festival also remind us of the abundant traditional values and virtues in which our forefathers were deeply rooted. Let us imbibe the rich cultural heritage and the heart for honesty, respect, hard work, kindness and courage of our forefathers,” he stated.
He wished all Zeliangs, far and wide, a joyful and meaningful Chega-Gadi/Lamsimnyi celebration in the best of health and spirit. (Page News Service)
