Dimapur, June 30: Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has greeted doctors on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day.
Expressing gratitude to doctors and other healthcare professionals who are tirelessly and selflessly working to save lives amidst the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, he said they are doing this yeoman service to humanity putting their own lives at high risk and often cut off from their near and dear ones.
“Since the Coronavirus outbreak, many Doctors and other healthcare professionals have lost their lives in the line of their duty. I pay my heartfelt tribute to the Corona Martyrs,” he said.
The Governor also expressed disgust at the unfortunate incidents of violence against doctors and healthcare professionals reported from some parts of the country, which he said are unacceptable to a civilized society, and called for outright condemnation and exemplary punishment to the perpetrators.
LCD: Lions Club of Dimapur has also wished all doctors on Doctors’ Day, stating that doctors have over the years discharged their duties wholeheartedly and now in this time of pandemic are even more eager to serve the society.
The club and its members extended gratitude to doctors for their tireless services.
